About

My name is Bill Morris, and I'm a cartographer based in Burlington, Vermont. I repurpose satellite imagery of the Earth in a cubist style, with the aid of some advanced computational tools.

I'm drawn to cubism for this project because the deconstructionist impulses of the form — break it apart and then piece it roughly back together — mirror the patterns visible from above in agriculture and the built environment. We break apart the ground at all scales, and we put it back together, repurposed; human straightaways against nature’s arcs and bights.

You can read more about my methods here.
